Dr. Scott provides her mentorship and expertise to nursing students across Canada’s many academic institutions. To date, she currently mentors students from the University of Alberta, University of Manitoba, and University of Saskatchewan. 

Canadian Child Health Clinician Scientist Program

CCHCSP is the first transdisciplinary training program for the next generation of clinician-scientists in child and youth health research in Canada from 13 Canadian Child and Youth Health Research Centres. A core curriculum delivers a common multidisciplinary language of research, while imparting professional skills and values. Shannon has been involved in the KT Expert Panel since 2009. In this capacity she assists in delivering an all day KT workshop with other members of the KT Expert Panel to new CCHCSP funded trainees, (PhD, PDF and early career development trainees) as well as their supervisors. Over the course of a year, she will work one-on-one with an assigned trainee and supervisor to assist them in developing and implementing a knowledge translation plan for the trainee’s research project. Over the course of Shannon’s time with CCHCSP, she has worked with the following CCHCSP funded trainees:
